HO CHI MINH CITY — Amazon is pitching companies in Vietnam to move data into its cloud, whose servers sit mainly overseas, while the government presses them to store it domestically.
Amazon Web Services is an early mover in seeking data-center customers in Vietnam, where it also recently introduced its global IT training program. But the world’s biggest cloud computing company is expanding in the market as Hanoi tightens rules to keep data onshore and watches internet giants snub Russia over its invasion of Ukraine.
